Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 18 September 2026. These terms apply to the 1Vault mobile app and related services operated for this product.

1. Acceptance

By creating a 1Vault account you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not create a vault or use the app.

2. The service

1Vault is an end-to-end encrypted document vault. Files are encrypted on your device before they are sent. We store ciphertext and account records needed to operate the service; we do not hold a key that can open your documents.

3. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for your email address, password, and recovery code. Losing both your password and recovery code means your vault cannot be opened — we cannot reset or recover encryption keys for you. Keep your recovery code offline in a safe place.

4. Acceptable use

You may use 1Vault only for lawful purposes. You must not attempt to break encryption, abuse the service, probe other accounts, or upload content you are not allowed to store. We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms or applicable law.

5. No access to your content

Because of end-to-end encryption, we cannot read your document contents, names, tags, or notes. Support cannot open your vault or reconstruct lost keys. Features that require us to see plaintext are not part of this product.

6. Account deletion

You may delete your vault at any time from within the app. Deletion permanently destroys your documents, encryption key wraps, and account. That cannot be undone, including with a recovery code you still hold.

7. Availability and changes

We aim to keep 1Vault available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update the app, the API, or these terms. Continued use after a material change means you accept the updated terms; we will surface acceptance again when signup or the product requires it.

8. Disclaimer

1Vault is provided as-is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We are not liable for loss of access caused by forgotten credentials, device failure, or irreversible account deletion you confirmed.
